One-of-a-kind wool hats made in Beacon, NY.
What keeps me knitting is the combinations of fibers, textures and colors, and the three dimensionality building of knit hats - stitch by stitch. Mohair, wool, alpaca, merino wool, silk and cashmere each have a specific texture, drape and sheen. Combinations get more complicated and challenging, and rewarding when they work. I find that each different combination of fibers and colors tends to suggest a stitch and shape in a hat. So each hat is a response to the materials I choose. At this year's work:shop I will have many new hats and headbands.
